The rain had the final say in the Momentum One Cup match between the bizhub Highveld Lions and the Dolphins at Senwes Park on Saturday, 23 March.
The Lions posted a commanding 330/6 in their hopes of securing a bonus point win that would let them sneak into the semi-finals of the competition. The Dolphins made 39/1 after 9.2 overs before the heavens opened in Potchefstroom. Ryan Rickelton was the star for the Lions with an impressive 126 (119) as the left-hander smashed the ball to all parts. Kagiso “Jonty” Rapulana also supported him ably with a well played 69 (70) on his home turf. This was the fourth no-result of the Lions campaign with bad weather being one of the factors that have curtailed the team’s charge this summer.
The semi-finals of the competition will pit the Titans against the Cobras and the Warriors against the Dolphins.
