Diseko and Classen frustrate Western Province bowlers on day 2

Former Dragons player, André Malan, returned to Potch and picked up 5/59.

Western Province looked to have the upper hand against hosts, North West in the CSA 3-day provincial match this morning with overcast skies hanging over Senwes Park.

At one stage, North West were 136/8 in chase of Western Province’s 170, before a determined 38-run partnership between bowlers, Johannes Diseko and Chad Classen frustrated the visitors.

Former Dragons player, André Malan returned to Potch and picked up 5/59. WP’s Malan hit all the right areas as he tore through the heart of the Dragons’ batting.

It was only Brady Barends with 37 (50) that could ignite some fire in the Dragons charge with the bat.

At the time of writing North West had compiled 174/9 with a four run lead in the first innings.
