At the end of September, three local riders from Windrush Stables, Lana Laubscher, Juané Erasmus and Lijanka Botha participated in the SA National Equestrian Schools Association’s (Sanesa) National Championships.
Twenty-thousand competitors competed in all disciplines over 10 days. At the end of five days of riding, Laubscher ended second in North West and ninth nationally.
Erasmus took third place in North West and 11th in SA.
Lana Laubscher from Laerskool Mooirivier and her pony, Windrush Toby, represented the North West A team at the national event in Dressage, Prix Caprilli, Equitation, In-hand Utility, Show Jumping and Performance Riding. She came home with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
Juané Erasmus from Laerskool M.L. Fick and her pony, Diego, represented the NW A team in Dressage, Prix Caprilli, Equitation, In-hand Utility, Working Riding, Show Jumping and Performance Riding and took two gold medals and a bronze.
Laerskool Baillie Park’s Lijanka Botha and her pony, Windrush Pegasus, represented NW A in Performance Riding and won a bronze medal for her efforts.
