The North-West University hosted the University of Free State (Kovsies) for friendly matches ahead of the hockey season this past weekend.
The results did not go to plan for Shaun Hulley’s sides with the men and women losing both matches at the NWU Astroturf on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The men lost 3–1 and 2–0 while the women had to concede defeat by 2–0 and 3–1. This was an opportunity for the NWU to get some quality hockey in before final team selections for the season ahead.
