There are only three days left before the much-anticipated 2023 ICC u.19 T20 Women’s Cricket World Cup takes centre stage in Potchefstroom on Sunday, 15 January.
The tournament will take place in Benoni and Potchefstroom from 14 – 29 January.
This 20-over tournament will be the first of its kind in the history of women’s cricket and presents an opportunity for the next generation of women’s cricketers to make their
mark for their countries.
Potchefstroomers can look forward to a total of 27 matches of scintillating cricket taking place at two
venues. All Super 6 matches, both semi-finals and the final will take
place in Potchefstroom.
The NWU Oval and the J.B. Marks Oval will host matches in Potchefstroom with the semi-finals and
final taking place at the J.B. Marks Oval.


The tournament’s first balls will already be bowled in Benoni on Saturday, 14 January with hosts,
South Africa, playing all their group matches in the East Rand.
South Africa are in group D with India, Scotland and the UAE.
Group A consists of Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the USA. Both these groups will play their matches in
Benoni.
Group C (Ireland, Indonesia, New Zealand and the West Indies) and
Group D (England, Pakistan, Rwanda and Zimbabwe) will play their group matches in Potchefstroom.
The top three teams in each group will progress to the Super 6 stage, which in turn will be divided into groups 1 and 2. The top two teams out of each group will then qualify
for the semi-finals.
