Rubin Hermann struck a fantastic 95 and Jean du Plessis a brilliant century for SA A against India A in the first 4-Day match at the J.B. Marks Oval in Potchefstroom today (Tuesday, 12 December).

SA A reached 298/5 after 92 overs at stumps on day 2.

Hermann, one of two NW Dragons players chosen for SA A alongside Hlompho Modimokoane, showed his talent against a talented India A attack on day 2, after the first day (Monday, 11 December) was rained out.

Du Plessis was on 103* (207 balls) with Evan Jones 5* (10) at the end of the second days play.

Hermann played a couple of beautiful shots on his home ground, making the most of the opportunity. SWD captain, Jean du Plessis, scored a fantastic century 103* (207 balls) working the ball all around the ground on a hot day.

India A have India bowlers, Shardul Thakur (1/33) and Prasidh Krishna (0/34), in their ranks, but Hermann together with SWD captain, Jean du Plessis, put on a superb 84-run partnership.

Hermann made 95 from 146 balls, striking 15 boundaries along the way before falling victim to left-arm spinner, Saurabh Kumar (2/63).

Connor Esterhuizen also scored a fine 48 for SA A.
