Saints strike big at SACSSA junior tournament

Saints Christian School delivered standout performances at the SACSSA tournament, claiming top honours with skills and spirit.

It was a weekend to remember for Saints Christian School, who stole the show at the SACSSA Junior Soccer Tournament in Ruimsig on Saturday, 7 July, bringing back a clutch of medals and a whole lot of pride.

The U.9 and U.13A Girls teams flew the Saints flag high with gold medal finishes, while the U13B Girls proudly added a bronze to the school’s growing trophy cabinet.

The U.13A Girls under the guidance of Saints CEO, Ché Williams, were unbeaten throughout — a near-perfect run that saw them concede just one goal and dominate a pool featuring seven top teams from across the country.

Meanwhile, the U/9 team — featuring both boys and girls — showed grit, flair and true Saints spirit. In a tense and hard-fought final against tournament hosts Ruimsig Academy, it was a moment of brilliance that proved the difference. Captain Khumo Radibe stepped up with a thunderous long-range strike to seal a memorable 1–0 win for Coach Dikeledi Monama’s young charges.

The U/13B Girls also turned in a gutsy performance throughout the weekend, claiming third place in a competitive bracket — a result that speaks volumes of the school’s growing depth in football.
