Nailbiter ends Boys High’s rugby season on a proud note

Potchefstroom High School for Boys narrowly lost their final league match to THS Klerksdorp, but coach Mohlahleli Mohau praised his team’s passion and predicted a strong comeback in 2026.

Potchefstroom High School for Boys played THS Klerksdorp on Wednesday in their final league fixture of the season. The men from Klerksdorp squeaked by with a 35 – 38 victory.

“Though the scoreboard didn’t swing our way our boys stood tall with pride, passion and purpose. They bled for the badge and gave everything until the final whistle,” said Mohlahleli Mohau, 1st XV coach at College.

It was a hard fought season for Boys High which saw them finish 3rd in division 4.

Mohau was upbeat after the narrow defeat, stating that College will come back stronger in the next season.

“Boys high will have a super strong 1 XV and 2 XV in 2026 season,” he said.

The winners for the Leopards leg of division 4 are as follows:

1 XV: THS Klerksdorp
2 XV: Schoonspruit
u.16: Schoonspruit
O.15: THS Klerksdorp
O.14: Schoonspruit
