FSA Ballers Crowned Champions in Premier U/9 tournament

The Annual FSA U/9 Tournament was a huge success, much to the delight of the children.

Future Stars Academy (FSA) successfully staged the province’s finest youth football event, the Annual FSA U/9 Tournament, at Potchefstroom Boys High on September 27. With 16 teams and over 200 young players participating, the tournament delivered another outstanding day of professional competition dedicated to foundational football development.

The event saw 16 teams engage in tough competition across four groups to earn a spot in the knockout stages. The narrative of the day was dominated by the victorious “FSA Ballers.”

The FSA Ballers navigated the group stages and knockout rounds with tactical discipline and unwavering defence. They advanced to the Cup Final where they secured a tight 1-0 victory over Silver Angels. Remarkably, the Ballers finished the entire tournament without conceding a single goal, a testament to their defensive organization.

This championship marks the second consecutive year that a Future Stars Academy team has won its own U/9 Tournament, firmly cementing the academy’s status as a top development centre in the province.

FSA CMO and Director, Lockey Monau, highlighted the importance of early competition. “It is essential to take football development and competition seriously from a young age,” Monau stated. “We do that by hosting the most professional, organized, and competitive U/9 tournament in the province.”

The tournament’s success reflects FSA’s commitment to providing a high-quality, structured environment for junior athletes.

Goalscorer of the tournament: Rayvon Bulawayo (Silver Angels).
Goalkeeper of the Tournament: Thebe Dibelane (Silver Angels).
Tournament MVP: Kego Matlabyane (FSA).
