Porsche gives Cayenne E-Hybrid models bigger batteries
The models are set to make their first appearance in 2021.
Porsche is updating its Cayenne Hybrid models with the installation of a larger 17.9kWh battery.
The new battery lurks in the Cayenne E-Hybrid and Turbo S E-Hybrid models and according to Porsche, the battery comes with an increased electric driving range by up to 30%.
Porsche says the E-Hybrid can travel up to 48 km while the Turbo S E-Hybrid can travel up to 42 km before sipping any dose of fuel.
Both Porsches employ an integrated electric motor as well an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic.
The electric motor alone develops 100 kW and 400 Nm.
The lesser Cayenne E-Hybrid comes fitted with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine with an unchanged 340 kW while the Turbo S E-Hybrid lurks a 4.0-litre engine with also an unchanged 500 kW.
Other changes include the optimisation if the Sport Chrono Package to further improve efficiency and performance. Both models are expected to arrive in SA in 2021.
