The King’s School Robin Hills learners reflect on restaurant evening
After hosting a successful restaurant evening at the school, the Grade 11 hospitality studies class from The Kings School Robin Hills reflected on the evening.
Lilitha Mkhize: I enjoyed the experience, even though it was tiring. It was a good experience especially as i want to work in the restaurant industry. It gave me a taste on how it feels to be in the kitchen for a long time, and still perform at the best of my ability.
Nermino Mbango: Today was a great experience, even though it was not easy, as it was our first time. I feel great that all is done, and it worked out beautifully. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the food we made.
Emile Hintzy- Reynolds: I am an exchange student from France. The experience was great. I like the pressure that comes with it, and enjoy cooking, so it really helped. We don't have this in our school, so, it was good to have this experience.
Learners hosted their families, treating them to delicious food and top service, as they would expect in a top restaurant. Learners were assessed as chefs, food servers, waiters, or barmen. The assessment counts towards their marks for the end of the term, as a practical component.
Dante-Leigh Moodley: My overall experience was mixed because of a lot of stress it came with, but it was a good experience, and I learnt a lot. I thought it was going to be chaotic, but it worked out well and my class did really well.
Kiara van Rensburg: Everybody worked well together, despite being up for long hours passed our bedtime. I did not expect things to be this good, but we all worked hard for this.
Randburg Sun asked the learners about the day, and how they felt about their hard work.
