Blairgowrie based motorsport family wishes community happy holidays

Johan Gouws, of Gouws Motorsport Formula Vee racing team in Blairgowrie, looked back on 2025, wishing the community safe holidays.

Johan Gouws, of Gouws Motorsport Formula Vee racing team in Blairgowrie, thanked everyone who stood beside and supported them this year, wishing residents a happy holiday.

He explained that motorsport may look like one driver and one car, but it is built on the support of countless people who believe in what they are trying to achieve. “Your messages, encouragement, and presence at the track genuinely kept us going. Wishing you a safe and meaningful festive season, filled with rest, joy, and time with the people who matter most.”

2025 has been the Gouws family’s most consistent and competitive season so far. They pushed hard all year, improved the reliability of the JForce Formula Vee, and delivered their best championship performance yet at the final race of the season. “We stepped up across the board, from preparation to execution, and the car proved to be very competitive.”

Gouws picked the round seven at Zwartkops, their final race of the season, as his best race for the year. He said that it was the weekend where everything finally came together. The setup, the pace, the confidence – it all aligned. “We showed the kind of performance we’ve worked toward for a long time, proving that we can go toe-to-toe with the front runners on pure merit.”

The end of the season meant everything for the family, as they also faced one of their toughest moments earlier in May at Zwartkops, when they were clipped and sent into a spin while fighting for a podium. “It hit hard, especially after 18 months of setbacks and bad luck, but that moment reminded us of who we are. We reset, kept working, and kept showing up. The only way through a season like that is to get back up every single time, and that’s exactly what we did.”

The family wishes for continued growth in 2026. “Our wish is simple: Growth. Also, more partners and resources, so we can keep improving the car and strengthen our competitiveness. With the right support, we can take a big step forward in 2026 and reach the level we know we are capable of.”
