Committee members Zané Jacobs, Ansie Malan, as well as Andre and Brenda Eloff, came together to raise funds.

“We are in urgent need of security for our branches. This will not only help reduce theft, but it will directly keep the shelter animals safe,” Brenda said who is also the RandWest SPCA chairperson.

She further stated that the SPCA is also in need of volunteers and committee members. They will be hosting a clean-up programme on March 22 and would like to have as many people as possible to support the initiative.

“Volunteers play a very big role. They help with fundraising and other initiatives, as well as other important tasks.

We do not have enough hands to help us do what we would like to,” she expressed.

She also said they would appreciate any donations such as dog food, cleaning supplies, blankets and treats for the animals.

“Come visit us and spend time with the animals. You will realise that that minute of love you give to the animals would mean the world to them. There are so many animals in search of homes. Please, see if you can adopt a pet before you buy one,” she said.

Brenda concluded by asking residents to keep a lookout on their Facebook page for any new and upcoming events.
