LETTER: Women and child abuse and xenophobia – My message to all men

A few Bible verses to men and youngsters regarding women and child abuse as well as xenophobia.

• Tlhoriso Phake writes:

The Spirit of Christ Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Dr Absolom Nhlanhla Mabaso, a medical doctor by profession, was celebrating Father’s Day in conjunction with Youth Month.

We are Post Cross Bible Believing Believers Christians, who believe in the God of the Holy Bible only. We had invited so many dignitaries, distinguished guests, churches etc to this special and historic occasion.

Amongst the guests who attended were Mogale City Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor Councillor Tyrone Gray, Elro Botes, Christian Vosloo and Chaplain MN Mankoa from the Krugersdorp Correctional Services, Colonel AM Molefi from the Randfontein Police as well as Mr and Mrs Milton Marite from the Saint John Divine Anglican Church

The message to the youth is:
• Ephesians 6 verse 1: Children obey your parents, honour your mother and father
• Ecclesiastes 12 verse 1: So remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of adversity come and the years approach when you will say, I have no delight in them

To women and children abused by men:
• Proverbs 4 verse 8: Do not abuse her but cherish her and she will exalt you, if you embrace her, she will honour you
• Ephesians 6 verse 4: Fathers do not exasperate your children, instead, bring them up in the training and instructions of the Lord

Xenophobia and Operation Dudula:
• Exodus 22 verse 21: You must not exploit a resident alien or oppress him since you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt
• Leviticus 19 verse 33-34: When an alien resides with you in your land (South Africa) you must not oppress him. I am the Lord your God
