Top class racing action at Tarlton

Tarlton International Raceway hosts the first round of the SA National Drag Championships on 21 March.

Race enthusiasts can prepare themselves for an explosive day of action packed racing on 21 March as the Tarlton International Raceway kicks off the first round of the 2014 SA National Drag Racing Championship.

Spectators will be guaranteed some awesome competition runs amongst some of the fastest drag car competitors in South Africa as the Top Eliminator Category showcases drivers like the A-Class Dragster pilots along with the Funny Car Pilots as they devour the asphalt with some spectacular racing.

These Top Eliminator beasts are known for posting monstrous times of six to seven seconds at over 300 km/h over the quarter mile.

Biker fans will also be spoilt with most of the country’s quickest and fastest street and drag bikes.

Topping off the day with exhibition runs by Nico van Rensburg and Shaun Watson in the famous, Tarlton J34 Westinghouse Jet Dragsters.

These beasts are capable of reaching speeds in excess of 400 km/h over a quarter mile.

Tickets will be available at Tarltons main gate on the day at R80.00 for adults and R40.00 for children between the ages of six and 12.

Tarlton offers plenty of free parking with take-away food and refreshments available at the venue.

The gates open at 7am and racing is set to start at around 8am.
