Dancers stream to Randfontein for West Rand Championships
Dancers streamed to the Randfontein Golf Club to take part in the West Rand Hip Hop Dance Championships, hosted by Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy.
The 2014 West Rand Hip Hop Dance Championships saw more than 500 spectators and 225 dancers battling it out for the crown of being the best dancer in the West Rand in their respective categories.
This prestigious event was hosted by Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy at the Randfontein Golf Club.
According to the owner of the Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy, Mario Gomes, the day was a staggering success as almost double the amount of dancers entered with the hope of becoming the best on the West Rand.
“On behalf of the Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy I would like to thank all the dancers that entered as well as to all the spectators that came to support this event,” says Gomes.
He adds that clearly the amazing dance art is rapidly growing.
“It is great to be part of this art and I believe that the West Rand will deliver great dancers into the world in years to come,” says Gomes.
Gomes also thanks the amazing judges who adjudicated this event. These judges are Wesley Grainger, Michelle Oppenshaw, Tumi Tladi, Golda Rabie, Robyn Brophy, Basheer Moolman and Amy Shields.
“Not only are these judges great when it comes to adjudicating, but they are also tremendous dancers and have reached great heights in the respective fields and in was truly an honour to have them judge at this competition,” says Gomes.
