POLOKWANE – Even though the department of education’s current priority is the gr. 12 examination results, it is still confident that the delivery of textbooks and other learning material will be complete by the time schools open on Wednesday, with delivery already having reached the 99% mark.
This is according to education spokesperson, Phuti Seloba, who added that there were only a few small issues and check-ups to be attended to once schools opened.
Several school principals in the city said they had received all their textbooks and other material.
There were only a few schools whose principals reported that they were still waiting for some material, but added that the department had been in constant communication with them.
This was an enormous improvement on the previous two years when the department reportedly ignored the schools who had not received all their textbooks.
“We are confident that all schools will be ready to hit the ground running this year,” Seloba concluded.
