THE acting principal of Chechema High School in Moletjie, Gerson Manthata gave learners a warm welcome on their first day of school last Wednesday.
Manthata also announced the school’s 2013 matric results, which was a 83% pass rate, placing the school third in the Konekwena circuit.
“The learners worked hard. We are proud of them and it’s up to the other learners to follow in their footsteps,” said Manthata.
He said although he had hoped all the learners would make it to the top 10 in the circuit, he was happy that one of them, Matthews Matlamela obtained third place in the circuit with three distinctions.
He thanked all the teachers for their hard work and encouraged them to continue doing well for the school.
“A new year has officially begun and well done to all the learners who did well last year. Continue working hard. To those who didn’t make it, get up and keep walking because no man falls forever,” he said.
