MAKHADO – Sherwin Moodley spent a sleepless night the night before the matric results were published on Tuesday, January 7, but his concerns were soon put to rest when he heard he had obtained three distinctions.
As one of Hoërskool Louis Trichardt’s top gr. 12 achievers for 2013, Sherwin has a bright future ahead of him. He achieved distinctions in life orientation, accounting and economics.
Sherwin said he planned ahead and had a regular study roster. Because he did not leave anything to the last minute, he was able to use the “Tommorow is Another Day” method. “If I could not understand something by 23:00 at night, it was better to leave it and start afresh the next day,” he explained.
He did not take part in any sporting activities in his gr.12 year. “That is just the sacrifice one has to make,” he said. Sherwin plans to become a chartered accountant and will start his studies at the University of Johannesburg this year. He said he wanted to thank his parents and teachers for their encouragement during his final year of school. “I would also like to thank my classmates for making school fun and educational.”
