THE Khanimamba Training and Resource Centre recently benefitted from a R200 000 donation by Metropolitan as part of the financial giant’s social investment programme.
The centre said the money would be distributed to three local development centres before the end of February.
“We will make sure the money is channelled to the development of these centres. They will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to improve education in the area,” said Nkateko Ngunyula, senior administrator at Khanimamba.
According to Ngunyula, Dimakatso Créche and Pre-school in Seshego will receive educational toys, books, games, puzzles and furniture. They will also receive a new photo copier.
Malucha Mopula Day Care Centre in Bakenberg will receive a Wendy House and fence, a water tank, furniture, toilets, children’s mattresses and blankets.
Modiane Pre-School from Moletjie will receive fencing, educational toys, mattresses and blankets for the children. Ngunyula said they would also use the money to organise training for centre personnel so that they can learn how to best look after children.
He promised the donation would go towards helping children reach their goals.
Khanimamba Education and Training Centre was established in 2004 to look after Early Childhood Development centres. The centre manages four branches in the province in Vuwani, Maniini, Malamulele and Bakenberg.
“We would like to encourage the recipients of the donations to make sure they look after the equipment so that they can be used for years to come.”
Dimakatso manager, Salphina Mabitsela said the centre would look after the donated goods.
Metropolitan donated the money during the 2013 Metropolitan South African Schools Football Association u/16 Cup held in Polokwane in December.
