Mall of the North’s top management team welcomed Northern Academy College into the neighbourhood with goodie bags last Friday afternoon.
The new Northern Academy campus is situated on the R81 road, near Mall of the North, and caters for high school learners from gr. 9 to 12.
Three hundred learners received the goodie bags, which contained water bottles, stationery, discount vouchers, coupons, and other goodies supplied by stores at the mall.
Rene van der Merwe, Mall of the North’s marketing manager, said at Mall of the North they were passionate about their community.
“We are pleased to welcome Northern Academy College to our neighbourhood. We focus on positive and constructive ways to involve the community in our mall, such as providing tours to schools, and supporting and acknowledging our local sports teams, charities as well as educational institutions.
“Mall of the North believes in being an asset to its community and aims to make a positive difference on several levels,” she said.
Van der Merwe thanked all their sponsors including Dis-Chem, Absa, Old Mutual, Cardies, Michaelangelo Jewellers, Fragrance Boutique, Visionworks, The Body Shop, Torga Optical, PNA, Wakaberry, Mugg & Bean, and African Bank for partnering with them in welcoming the new school to their neighbourhood.
Bertus Koekemoer, head of hostels at Northern Academy, said the school appreciated the gifts.
“We are glad to know we have nice neighbours who are happy that we are here. I am sure we are going to have a good working relationship with them.”
