Chess players make a move

Five learners from Pemps took part in the South African Junior Chess Championships in Durban from December 14 to 19 during the school holidays.

POLOKWANE – Five learners from Pemps took part in the South African Junior Chess Championships in Durban from December 14 to 19 during the school holidays.

The learners, Dauda Sheni, Miguel Vilar, Sholin Sewlall, Lesedi Phofa and Camron Kaba were members of the Limpopo Junior chess team.

Dauda, Miguel and Sholin of the u/14B team won a bronze medal, coming third in the country in their age group.

Lesedi and Camron also performed very well.

The learners were accompanied by Linsey Vilar and the coach, Driesman Bester to Durban.
