Schools benefit from rebate programme

Several schools and a university have benefitted from the Makro schools rebate rewards programme.

POLOKWANE – Several schools and a university have benefitted from the Makro schools rebate rewards programme.

The programme enables parents who shop at Makro to give back a percentage of the money they spend on purchases to their child’s school on a bi-annual basis.

Schools which benefitted from the programme were Oosskool, Mitchell House Preparatory School, University of Limpopo, Hoërskool Pietersburg and Pemps gr. R.

According to Makro, the rebate programme worked on its existing Makro card system with no additional fees, which means Makro pays 100% of the accrued rebate directly to the schools. All is needed is for parents to link their Makro card to their child’s school and select the nearest Makro store to the school.

According to Makro, parents should take note that purchases made at the nearest store to the school will be acknowledged for the rebate. Once the card is linked to the school, the schools will then benefit every time parents shop at the selected Makro store by receiving a percentage of the profit. This is an ideal way to attract business from a community and at the same time raise money for your school, according to Makro. Makro stated that its stores have so far pay out a total of R8 303 321 in rebates nationally.
