J.H. MOLOTO Secondary School in Ga-Legodi in Moletjie is at the top of the Bahlaloga education circuit after the school obtained a 100% matric pass rate in 2013.
Kgakoa Secondary School is in second place with a 86% matric pass rate.
Sixty-three J.H Moloto gr. 12 learners wrote the senior certificate examinations in 2013, with only seven failing. The school obtained 30% bachelors passes.
The vice-principal, Sammy Madzhia said the school was proud of their achievement and aimed for a 100% pass rate this year.
“The teachers and learners are committed and we have a competition to boost the learners’ morale and to encourage them to work harder. During the competition, the learners receive badges based on their marks every quarter. Only the top 10 learners in each grade receive the badges,” said Madzhia.
Madzhia was one of the teachers who presented subjects on radio last year during the preparations for the senior certificate examinations. He presented life science on Thobela FM, Phalafala FM and Munghana Lonene FM.
