LEARNERS and personnel of Ramodipa Day Centre in Rasewana village near Tzaneen have reason to celebrate as the centre will soon be able to set-up shop in their own building.
This wonderful turn of events comes courtesy of Hollywoodbets.net, a horse racing and sport betting shop. The Tzaneen branch of this company donated fencing, building material, office and classroom furniture, sporting equipment and a first aid kit to the centre as part of their charity support programme.
The centre is currently based at Letsheku Primary School.
Founder of the centre, Elisabeth Maebane said the donation came at just the right time, as they needed their own premises to better cater for the 62 children from poor families who rely on the care they receive at the centre. She said the centre was established in 2001.
She thanked Hollywood bets.net for their generous donation.
“We were unable to secure funding from the department of health and social development, because they consider us part of the school we are based in. Now we can apply for new funding and really help these children,” she said.
Hollywoodbets.net’s Tzaneen branch manager, Louis Malatji said the company was touched by the plight of the centre and decided to make it one of their beneficiaries.
The company also donated water tanks, pumps and cement to Horizon Drop-in Centre in Modjadjiskloof recently.
