POLOKWANE – Last Monday night, parents, family, learners and teachers of Mitchell House School were entertained by four choirs.
First on the stage was the school’s junior choir with Gail Lister as their conductor. They sang three songs.
Then the intermediate phase choir, with Amrian Terblanche-Van der Merwe as conductor, sang two songs.
After this performance Terblanche-Van der Merwe brought the college learners, the school’s senior choir, on stage. The senior choir also sang two songs.
Then the big surprise of the evening was announced.
The Grenoble Gospel Singers took to the stage and entertained guests with their unique sound.
They are a French choir that toured Johannesburg and Polokwane. The tour was named The Building Bridges Gospel Tour.
After the choir finished their repertoire, the audience begged them for more and the choir sang a few encore songs. The Grenoble Gospel Singers invited the three other choirs on stage to join them and they all sang and danced.
“We are privileged to have a choir of this magnitude with us at our school. We hope they will visit us again,” said Andrew Cook, headmaster of Mitchell House.
