Toyota knighthoods

POLOKWANE – To be part of the elite group of salespersons within Toyota South Africa, known as the Toyota Knights, is a rare honour.
This prestigious title was recently bestowed on Limpopo Toyota sales manager Benny Cahn, Limpopo Toyota senior sales executive Ryno Jardin, and Hino Limpopo sales consultant Faan van der Westhuizen.
Earning this title means that not only do these salespersons make a significant contribution to the viability, by way of profitability, to their dealerships, but they also promote the salesperson image, and are an inspiration to their colleagues.
According to Toyota South Africa’s website, employees who have been named Toyota Knights have the responsibility and duty to set the example of being balanced professionals in their working environment, community, and in social and environmental activities.
“They make further contributions to dealer profitability by demonstrating to their fellow sales colleagues their product knowledge and outstanding service to their customers.”
With a committed programme of self development, they will play an important role in the furthering of improved customer satisfaction, exemplifying true customer orientation through care by total commitment, Toyota South Africa says.
Limpopo Toyota and Hino Limpopo embarked on numerous community projects during 2013, which qualified them for consideration as Toyota Knights.
Jardin says he and Cahn, together with their colleagues, assisted in various projects in the community including at Molautsi Secondary School in Seshego, Mphebe Primary School in Ralitshaba and the Ngwana Baby House in Polokwane. Assistance also included donations, with the help of Pick n Pay Cycad, such as baby necessities to Ngwana Baby House, Jardin adds.
Limpopo Toyota is also one of the main sponsors of the Sunflower 4×4 event, which in turn is part of the national Sunflower Fund, a non-profit organisation that supports the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).
The Sunflower Fund’s purpose is to educate, recruit and raise funds to build and sustain an effective SABMR as a viable source of well informed ethnically-diverse potential bone marrow donors so as to meet the national and international requirements and improve the chances of life-saving transplants for serious blood disorder sufferers.
Jardin says Limpopo Toyota helps to make people more aware of the Sunflower fund to get more willing donors, as there is always a shortage. Added to this, Limpopo Toyota also works closely with charity organisations such as the Round Table 157 in Polokwane, employees took part in a clean-up campaign on Mandela Day last year to further help make a difference in their community.
Under Van der Westhuizen’s guidance, Hino Limpopo is also involved with various community projects in and around Polokwane.
“We support Aretha Old Age Home, Myngenoegen Shelter and Grace and Hope School in Seshego with blankets, clothes and other useable items we are able to collect. We also support a needy family in Seshego.
“For us here at Hino is it a passion to help in the community we serve,” Van der Westhuizen says.
