POLOKWANE – The newly appointed MEC for education, Thembi Nwendamatswu took time out of her busy schedule on Thursday to meet officials of the department as well as several Limpopo school principals.
During this meeting, the MEC spoke about her commitment to the education of children.
She said she wanted to help the department and schools to work closer together to ensure the mistakes of the past were not repeated.
Nwendamatswu told Review that she was very excited about her appointment as MEC for education.
She said she was looking forward to making a substantial contribution to the department.
“There is so much that can be done for the children of the province and, with the help of the schools’ principals, we will cover a lot of ground in my term,” she said.
Principal of Hoërskool Pietersburg, Willie Schoeman, said he was pleasantly surprised by the approach of the MEC. He said he looked forward to work with her in future.
“She has a very good academic background and experience and is a stately and accomplished manager. I am excited to be working with her,” Schoeman said.
