Gymnasts take 42 medals
Gymstars' rhythmic gymnasts participated in the South African Gymnastics Federation's team trophy competition at Wits on May 9 and 10.
POLOKWANE – Gymstars’ rhythmic gymnasts participated in the South African Gymnastics Federation’s team trophy competition at Wits on May 9 and 10.
Gymstars owner and coach, Lelanie Logtenberg was extremely proud of her gymnasts’ achievements.
The 33 gymnasts who participated won 16 gold medals, 14 silver and three bronze medals.
The club also won three first places, three second places and two fourth places in the overall team competition on the day.
The level 2 u/11, level 3 u/9 and level 3 u/11 teams of Gymstars took first place in the team competition.
“It was a great privilege to participate in this competition with so many gymnasts who worked so hard to develop and improve their skills.
“Watching these girls grow in confidence and ability and seeing their efforts pay off with excellent results in such a competition is extremely rewarding,” said Logtenberg.

Individual winners:
• Level 1 u/9: Kgansi Mohala.
• Level 2 u/9: Elouise Venter.
• Level 2 u/10: Micaela Wood.
• Level 2 u/11: Louise van Ryneveld.
• Level 3 u/9: Winette Prinsloo.
• Level 3 u/11: Chane Venter.
Gold medal winners:
• Level 1: Kwezi Lubisi, Neo Mudau, Mea Collen and Reneilwe Leboho.
• Level 2: Duane Welman, Celente Badenhorst and Leandre Labuschagne.
• Level 3: Melissa Smit, Emma Veldman and Mariska Groenewald.
Silver medal winners:
• Level 1: Tapi Chuma, Sunel Bothma, Lesedi Maja and Mpho Moloto.
• Level 2: Elandri Geldenhuys, Carie Lombard, Vene Blignaut, Ntotole Komape, Rune Lindeque, Mapula Makgopa and Leilah Calaca.
• Level 3: Lynise Prinsloo, Mariska Smit and Magderie Smit.
