POLOKWANE – At a time of the year when some parents have to make decisions about their children’s educational future, schools all over the city host open days to promote their schools and to show them off to prospective learners and their parents.
Last Wednesday, it was Pepps Polokwane Preparatory School’s turn to impress parents.
The event started at 10:00 when the school’s head, Julia Werner, spoke to parents in the auditorium. She explained the different aspects of the school and explained why Pepps only catered for two languages, Afrikaans and English. She also told prospective learners about the school’s anti-bullying campaign and said the school had a zero tolerance towards bullying. “Our school is all about the learners. We keep the child at the centre of everything we do,” she said.
After Werner’s address, she offered the parents time to ask questions and then the parents had the opportunity to explore the school.
At 12:30, the u/12 and u/13 learners played friendly soccer and netball matches in mixed teams to show off the school’s prowess on the sports field.
