Spend your 67 minutes by painting this school

TSHIKOTA – The Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR) from Makhado will be doing their bit for Mandela Day by painting a pre- primary school in Tshikota on Friday.

Former president Nelson Mandela’s birthday was on July 18, and the call is out through International Mandela Day for people everywhere to celebrate his birthday by acting on the idea that each person has the power to change the world.

The idea of Mandela Day was inspired by Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park in 2008 when he said: “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens. It is in your hands now.”

A total of 12 people who live in Tshikota have volunteered to help with the painting of the school.

This school has 95 children and they will be spoiled with sweets by the CMR.

The CMR has been operating for more than 30 years in Makhado.

They focus on child safety, help people to be a happy family, help the elderly people and assist those struggling without food.

If you would like to join in the celebration on Friday,at 09:00, contact Darrel Thompson on (015) 516 5115 or send an e-mail to louistrichardt@cmrn.co.za.
