MUNGHANA Lonene FM (MLFM) in partnership with Build it made their mark in a big way when they donated an entire pre-school building to the needy villagers of Nkuzana village in commemoration of Mandela Day on Friday.
MLFM station Manager, James Shikwambana said villagers would be the proud owners of a beautiful three classroom pre-school building with an office and a set of restrooms.
He said the station was committed to serving the community in which they operated, while putting more emphasis on addressing challenges that the community continued to grapple with.
“It is such a rewarding feeling to work for this platform, which enables us to make a difference in the community and in individual lives,” he said.
Marvelous Maluleke, the principal of the existing pre-school, said it was a wonderful feeling to know they would at last have a proper school for the 80 children attending the pre-school.
“We are very thankful to the donors. We need more help though, because we do not have furniture, educational toys, or water tanks as yet. We have been using a shack as a classroom,” Maluleke said.
