Moruleng determined to be best of the best

THE top achievers of Moruleng Secondary School in Seshego’s zone 1 were recently awarded for their performance during a ceremony that was attended by parents and members of the school governing body (SGB).

Principal Sinah Ramatlou said the sole purpose of the event was to encourage learners to do well in their studies and in other activities.

“We want to recognise excellent performances on academic and cultural as well as sports levels. We want to motivate our learners to improve on their results.

“Last year we did not perform well in terms of academic results. This year we aim to achieve at least an 80% matric pass rate for our school.

“We want to put our school on the map by being the best secondary school in the Polokwane circuit,” Ramatlou said.

She added that learners were awarded on a quarterly basis in order to encourage them to do well throughout the year.

Dikeledi Letsoalo, a gr. 12 top achiever said hard work paid off.

“I am very happy to be the top student in gr. 12 for this quarter.

“I am quite sure that I am going to be the top student in the coming quarter too. I don’t believe that anyone is born intelligent, but rather that hard work really pays off.

“To those who did not perform well this quarter: do not give up, but invest more time in studying,” she concluded.
