POLOKWANE – Tuesday was celebrated internationally as Dog Day, and Review spoke to some youngsters about whether they had plans to spoil their dogs on this special day.

“I have three dogs. I think it is a good idea to spoil your dogs and to show your love for them, I love my dogs,” Louise Stoltz said.

Caydin Freeman said if she could spoil her dogs on Dog Day, she would ask her mom to take her to a butchery so that she can buy them nice, big juicy bones. She said she played with her dogs every day, but would spend extra time with them on Dog Day.

Morongwa Matloha said she did not have dogs or any other pets, but if she could have a dog it would be a small one because she was afraid of big dogs. She said if she had a dog she would definitely spoil it on Dog Day.

“I prefer dogs to other animals because they are very cle-ver,” she said.

“My dog is small, but I will give him an extra portion of food, and if there is something nice left over after dinner, I will ask my mommy if I can give it to my dog. Because I want to show him that I love and care for him,” Revell Semono said.

Jordan Adonis said he had received a puppy recently. He said for Dog Day, he would give his puppy a bath if it was not too cold, and he would also see that his bowls were clean. He said he would ask his pa-rents what treats he could give his new friend for Dog Day.

“My puppy has his own house with blankets so that he doesn’t get cold in the night,” he said.

JJ Vorster said on Dog Day he would see to it that his dog was fed with extra tasty food, and of course, it would have clean water. He said he loved his dog so much that he didn’t want it to wander out of the yard because a car might run over it.

“At bedtime my dog sleeps with me as it is a puppy.
