TO encourage learners to take education seriously, a top Thengwe Secondary School gr. 12 learner hosted a series of road shows at various schools in Mutale.

Be Ignited and Motivated is the brainchild of Charity Mudau of Zwa Class Enterprise and the road shows kicked off at Thengwe Secondary School on Thursday.

“We bring celebrities to the schools to guide and convince gr. 12 learners of the importance of education.

“Learners look up to celebrities that they see every day on television, so we hope they will listen to these celebrities,” said Mudau.

According to Mudau, part of the road show would help learners prepare for the senior certificate examinations and look at the challenges that learners face during these examinations.

Mutale mayor, Sarah Rammbuda, spoke at the first road show and she said to pass gr. 12 with good results was like crossing a bridge to a brighter future.

She encouraged learners to work hard to reach their goals.

“Good matric results open doors for bursaries and scholarships for learners.

“We have recently finished building the Mutale Community Library and we urge learners to make use of it to prepare for the examinations and for research,” said Rammbuda.
