Relebogile Maleka, Khanyisa Maluleke and Deborah Fakoya dress up in African Culture to match their theme for the day.
The Montessori Centre hosted Heritage Month celebrations with an international flavour by focussing on the heritage of the different continents of the world.
The celebration was held on Wednesday, and learners brought food and decorations from different continents and dressed up in the traditional clothing of the continent they represented.
The continents whose heritages were celebrated included the Americas, Australia, Asia, Europe and Africa.
“I really learned a lot from this project,” said Hassen Moti, one of the learners.
Asia’s heritages are celebrated in three parts, Arabia, India and China at the Montessori Centre’s Heritage Month celebrations. In front are Sarah Winkelmann (secretary), Yusrah Ebrahim, Laikah Knair, Firdous Gani, Umayma Motala and Naseema Chicktay (environment teacher). In the the back are Hassen Moti, Humaira Haalem and Aaliya Bhamjee.At the South American table is Munei Kutama, Nomvula Twala and Kelebogile Lekote.
