A FESTIVE atmosphere reigned at Sekati Secondary School in Kgoroshi village on Friday when department of education Moletjie circuit officials visited the school to launch Matric Friday.
Parents, the school governing body (SGB), Moletjie circuit representatives and learners attended this event.
Principal Christina Chokwe said the Matric Friday programme was an initiative of Limpopo premier, Stanley Mathabatha, in support of all gr. 12 learners.
“We encourage gr. 12 learners to compete with each other. We encourage the learners who did not make it this quarter to study harder. We want to be the best secondary school in our area,” Chokwe said.
“We hope that our results will improve this year. We want an 80% pass rate,” she said.
Acting Moletjie circuit manager, Moloko Thangwane, said Matric Friday was an opportunity to motivate gr. 12 learners just before the final exams began.
“The Moletjie circuit performed well in the past and we expect to reach an 80% pass rate this year.”
