Aladdin’s Den toasts 20 years of learning with cake and sweets

Aladdin's Den Pre-school celebrated the school's 20th year of existence recently

POLOKWANE – Aladdin’s Den Pre-school celebrated the school’s 20th year of existence recently.

The teachers and children enjoyed cake and sweet treats to commemorate this day.

The school opened its doors on October 1 1994 in Betz Street and grew substantially in their first 10 years, extending the school into neighbouring properties over the years.

“We added buildings to the well equipped premises and established an aftercare centre for children aged seven to 12 years.

“We also plant beautiful trees on Arbor Day every year to provide shade on the playground for the children,” said Zyrilla van der Kolff, the owner and principal of Aladdin’s Den.

“It is still a privilege to serve the community and to educate children,” added Van der Kolff.

“I would also like to thank the parents and grandparents who helped to build the school over the years,” she said.

Some 90 children are enrolled at Aladdin’s Den, where four qualified teachers and four teacher’s aides prepare them for gr. R.

“Our school concert is one of the highlights on the calendar every year and this year our concert, Fashion Potpourri, took place on October 16 at the N.G. Kerk Pietersburg-Oos,” said Van der Kolff.
