POLOKWANE – Stanford Lake College held a prize giving function during their valediction service for gr. 12 learners last Friday.
The gr. 12 learners were awarded with trophies and awards for their hard work after they took part in various activities on the day such as a colour festival and swimming. They were also asked to leave their shoes behind and shine on the stage for one last time.
Awards:
• Gaba Monyepao, the Amm Trophy for the learner who has best shown the qualities of care, compassion, honesty, integrity and understanding.
• Skye Chapman, the Geldenhuys Trophy for the learner who has achieved excellence in all spheres of school life; academic, sport and cultural activities, the Da Silva trophy for consistent academic excellence throughout high school.
• Rhanda Mongwe, the Blight Trophy for English public speaking and the Baleta trophy for having great goals and for being future smart.
• Candice Petty, the Waller Trophy for history.
• Sarah Wilken, mathematics literacy prize.
• Mmampi Mangena, the Marco Visser Trophy for exceptional academic improvement in gr. 12.
• Gabi Krüger, the Kromberg Trophy for proficiency in English and Afrikaans, the Jack Trophy for geography.
• Zaid Kollia, the D’Arcy Herman Trophy for accounting.
• Erinn Straughan, the La Trofia Madera del Arte visual art prize, the Thompson Trophy for being an outstanding artist.
• Josh Selfe, the Ken Shuter Trophy for English home language, the Morris Trophy for life sciences, the information technology award, the life orientation award, the Calculus Trophy for mathematics, the Einstein Trophy for physical science.
• Yumna Anver Kalla, awards for Afrikaans first additional language and life orientation.
• Gavin Stirling, the Vanner Trophy for commitment, determination and sportsmanship, the Jarrod Zamparini Trophy for the gr. 12 learner who has most used the opportunities offered to him.
• Mignon Erasmus, the Ubuntu Trophy for exceptional service to the community.
• Tshifhiwa Tshifularo, the CAT08KAT trophy for computer application technology.
• Sphiwe Dlamini, the Kenney Brokers Trophy for economics.
• Alex Revelas, the Jack Trophy for geography.
