POLOKWANE – Mitchell House hosted a Christmas market on Sunday.
Each primary school grade manned their own stall, where they sold different goods to raise money for the school.
Sue Altenroxel, the head of the Enrichment Centre, said they also opened the market to anyone who wanted to sell their goods.
“These are the kinds of activities we use to entertain our learners before the festive season starts. The Christmas market also aims to teach the learners entrepreneurship and management skills,” said Altenroxel.
Most of the handmade goods that were sold by Mitchell House learners were made by the school’s life skills teacher, Jessie Dale, and learners from the Enrichment Centre.
Dale said it took a team of committed and hard working people to make a project like this one a success.
“We produced different types of foods such lemonade, juice, cucumber pickles and many more. We also made Christmas trees and used aloe flowers to decorate the venue,” Dale explained.
