POLOKWANE – Two learners from Capricorn High School were selected as finalists for the Miss Limpopo Teen pageant.
Talane Mahlatjie (17) and Tshego Monyepao (16) had their first interview at House of Asante in Jorissen Street on November 1.
On the same day, the top 10 finalists for Miss Limpopo and Miss Limpopo Teen were selected.
Mahlatjie and Monyepao said contestants were judged on their dress code, speech, walk and the way they presented themselves when they walked, as well as the quality of their entry forms. The entry forms had to include a full CV of previous titles won, portfolio pictures and a motivation letter explaining why they entered the competition.
Talane, who is the eldest of four children, said she was proud to have made it this far.
“I never thought I would get this far, because I only started modelling five months ago. I think I would be a great ambassador and I can touch many people’s lives. I have a passion for helping orphans and people with disabilities,” she said.
Tshego was the youngest of three children, but is now an only child as her two siblings passed away. She said she was overwhelmed by her achievement.
“I think I am a positive role model who can inspire younger children. Giving to the needy is my modelling platform. I recently adopted Banapele Drop-in Centre in Mankweng and donated clothes, food, soap and toys to the centre that caters for children between the ages of five and 18 years.”
