POLOKWANE – Mother Goose Pre-school and Crèche held their annual gr. R “graduation” ceremony on Saturday.
This was the school’s 23rd “graduation” ceremony.
The children were dressed up for the occasion, with the girls dressed in white dresses and the boys in formal black pants, white shirts, green waist jackets and green bow ties.
Berenice de Bruyn, teacher and owner of Mother Goose, said the green and white symbolised purity and growth.
“It is a very emotional day for me, because it is hard to say goodbye to the children. We are going to miss these little ones. They are like our own and now we have to let them go, but I know they will do well at school and have bright futures ahead.
“I would like to thank the parents for trusting us and for allowing us to have the time we had with the children,” De Bruyn said.
The event started with the children dancing and thereafter the gr. R learners each received a certificate.
The formalities ended with a dinner for the parents and learners.
