ENCOURAGEMENT of learners was what it was all about at CM Sehlapelo Combined School’s prize-giving ceremony in Seshego last Wednesday.
One of the teachers, Florence Ngoasheng said the aim of the awards ceremony was to encourage the learners to work hard.
“We want to honour our learners. We want to cultivate a culture of learning and competitiveness among the learners and, by doing so, increase the overall performance of the school.
“If you want something you’ve never had before, you have to do something you’ve never done before,” she said, adding that the school wanted to be the best primary school in Seshego next year.
“We hope that learners will perform well during the exams, because we know they are prepared,” Ngoasheng said.
Joseph Khoza, Standard Bank relationship manager and motivational speaker spoke at the ceremony and said learners needed to be motivated.
“We want to encourage learners and teach them that there are many opportunities for them in life.
“We want the learners to work hard and know that the will to win is worthless without the will to prepare,” Khoza said.
Top gr. 7 academic achiever, Lesley Mokoatlo, said this year was a tough year academically for him.
