POLOKWANE – The Northern Muslim School had outdone itself again as the gr. 12 class of 2014 achieved a 100% pass rate.
Overall the learners achieved 29 distinctions, 38 B-symbols and 33 C-symbols and a class average of more than 60%. The top three gr. 12 learners for 2014 were Nabeel Salojee, Mishkah Ismail and Miriam Bibi Varachia.
“Our congratulations go out to the class of 2014 and we wish you all the best in the future,” said Northern Muslim School’s chief executive officer, Mohammed Kalla.
“We are thankful to our learners, parents and dedicated educators and would also like to thank the board of governance for their efforts.”
Nabeel was also the top independent education board student in Limpopo, achieving seven distinctions in his matric exams. He said he would study medicine at Wits University this year.
Nabeel’s distinctions:
• English – 92%;
• Afrikaans – 92%;
• Mathematics – 99%;
• Life orientation – 90%;
• Physical science – 99%;
• Accounting – 98%, and
• life sciences – 93%.
Mishkah achieved four distinctions and planned to study architecture and design at Wits University this year.
Mishkah’s distinctions:
• English – 80%;
• Mathematics – 85%;
• Life orientation – 87%, and
• accounting – 90%.
Miriam achieved four distinctions and said she would study psychology through Unisa.
Miriam’s distinctions:
• Afrikaans – 83%;
• Life orientation – 87%;
• Life sciences – 82%, and
• accounting – 83%.
