POLOKWANE – Taxila Secondary School is one of the top 10 best performing schools in Limpopo in the 2014 senior certificate examinations.
Taxila obtained a 97,7% matric pass rate last year, an improvement from 96,5% in 2013. They are the ninth best performing school in Limpopo in terms of the number of bachelor passes obtained.
Polokwane mayor Thembi Nkadimeng visited the school last Tuesday to congratulate the learners and personnel on the school’s stellar performance.
Accompanied by the acting circuit manager for the department of education, Hellen Peasall, Nkadimeng encouraged this year’s gr. 12’s to work hard, stay focused and to be dedicated and disciplined when it came to their schoolwork.
Peasall told the learners that, with their contribution and the school’s ninth place in the province, the Pietersburg circuit won best circuit in Limpopo and best circuit in the Capricorn district.
Principal Tlou Ramara said the school was devoted to help learners develop their moral and social skills.
“We take great pride in our school. We are a fountain of excellence. We have a well groomed culture of discipline and learning and we are driven by our commitment and willingness to progress,” Ramara said.
Head girl Nthabiseng Motona thanked Nkadimeng and Peasall for their visit to the school.
“Our school needs a school hall and we ask that the Polokwane Municipality please build us our own school hall,” she asked Nkadimeng.
