HAENERTSBURG – Stanford Lake College (SLC) welcomed a new teacher, Lize-Marie Engelbrecht, who will be teaching natural sciences to the gr. 9 learners.
She will also be teaching life orientation with particular responsibility for the running of the physical education programme.
According to Stanford Lake College marketer, Rona McGaffin, Engelbrecht’s aim is to improve the fitness of learners at the school and equip them with life orientation skills. She added that Engelbrecht was a house parent at Serala boarding house.
Engelbrecht holds a B.Sc degree in sports science and obtained a postgraduate certificate in education in science and life orientation. She travelled around Africa doing community work to assist with disaster management, and has a keen interest in branding and public relations.
McGaffin wished her well in her new position and said the SLC personnel were looking forward to working with her.
