POLOKWANE – Pemps gr. R celebrated the 14th existence year of gr. R at the school last Friday.
The celebration was held in the form of a pool party and the 64 gr. R learners had a wonderful time celebrating the day in their swimwear, and enjoying themselves on the water slide and in the three pools filled with bubbles.
A jumping castle was a further reason for delight. Cupcakes and cooldrinks ensured that everyone was sustained throughout the fun and games.
The beautiful school grounds afforded a scenic backdrop to the proceedings and personnel enjoyed the event together with the children.
The children were also given a chance to write birthday messages and create birthday cards for the school.
Four learners received prizes: for the most inspiring message, the biggest birthday card, the most creative card and the prettiest card.
Gr. R head, Karin Adlem, has been at the school for the past 11 years, only surpassed by the secretary, Louise Page, who has been at the school since it opened 14 years ago.
The children are already looking forward to next year’s birthday party.
