POLOKWANE – Cansa gave the teachers and learners of Ivy Park Primary School a colourful day filled with laughter last Thursday when learners had their hair sprayed in different colours to demonstrate their solidarity with cancer survivors.
This was part of the annual Cansa Shavathon campaign, which was run across the country last week.
Cansa community mobiliser, Sharon Stander, said Cansa sent letters to all the schools in the city asking them to participate in the Shavathon.
“This project will continue until the end of March,” she said.
The learners were eager to have their hair sprayed with funky patterns and bright colours.
The Cansa volunteers were assisted by the learner representative council (LRC) to spray the learners’ hair.
Teacher Candice van der Merwe said the school was glad to support Cansa.
