POLOKWANE – TEN Phishego Primary School learners in Seshego zone 1, Polokwane are the beneficiaries of school uniforms, which were donated by Mega Works and Immaculate Security and Morei Matji and Associates last Tuesday.
According to Mega Works and Immaculate Security director, Victor Mokgotho, the donation was the company’s way of giving back to the school.
“These learners are the future of the country. Some of us attended this school, and we want to help destitute families.
“The donation should serve as encouragement to the learners to go to school,” said Mokgotho.
He said the company would start a programme, where they would adopt some of the learners.
“This is not the first or the last time we assist the school. I thank Jack Matlou, Dan Mongatane, Papi Kganyago, Joseph Mashita, and Nelson Maphotho, who helped to buy the uniforms,” he said.
The Capricorn mayor, Gilbert Kganyago, said it was important to help disadvantaged learners.
“We want to encourage children to attend school.
“We encourage other businesses to donate goods to disadvantaged learners because they are the future.
“I promise to visit their families to find out what is still needed,” said Kganyago.
Morei Matji of Morei Matji and Associates said it was important to give back to the community.
“We grew up in Seshego and we felt that we should do something for the community.
“We want to help the community out of poverty and education is the only tool that can pull them out of poverty.
“We hope and wish that more people around Seshego will get involved in this initiative to uplift needy people,” said Matji.
Principal Mmaditsela Sebotja thanked Mega Works and Immaculate Security and Morei Matji and Associates for the donation.
“It was a privilege and honour for the learners to receive the uniforms.
“These learners are from disadvantaged backgrounds, and I hope that these companies continue to do the good work they are doing,” said Sebotja.
