MOKOPANE – ABOUT 700 residents of Mokopane attended a interdenominational prayer meeting on Sunday at Gundo Worship centre to pray for the community of Mokopane.

The meeting was arranged by apostle Cheardly Hangwani and he said, “as a church we believe that the problems that are faced by our community, political unrest, murders, people living in fear and social related problems are mostly spiritual and can’t be solved politically.

“Spiritual problems need spiritual solutions and that is where the church should take its rightful position according to 2 Chronicles 7 verse 14.

“We also believe that a church should be in a position to influence both sectors of the society socially, spiritually, politically and economically.”

The prayer was divided into five main items; Bishop Sam Phakgadi prayed for the communiy leaders, Ps Nonyamazela Tati prayed for the businesses in Mokopane, a prayer was made by Bishop Daniel Moropa for the families affected by the murders, Ps Molapelo Masemene prayed for the community and Apostle Khomotso Lebelo ended in prayer for the unity of churches.

Hangwane told Bosveld that they are planning to have more interdenominational prayers in the future.

Hangwane thanked all of the pastors who supported the prayer meeting along with their church members especially the members who participated in the program; Ps Molemela, Ps Fanta Shika, Bishop Daniel Moropa, Ps Tati, Ps Masemene, Bishop Phakgadi, Bishop Edward Mahlakgane, Apostle Lebelo, Bishop Elizabeth Matsaung and Ps Tammy Hangwani.
